Welcome to our Nursery
We foster a strong child-initiated, play-based focus within our Nursery.
We follow the framework set out in the Early Years foundation Stage which sets the standards to ensure that children from birth to age five learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.
We believe very strongly that children should be given equal opportunity to learn and develop both indoors and outdoors. All children are free to use our indoor and outdoor learning areas, they particularly enjoy spending time in our adventure playground.
We offer flexible provision during term time for children from rising 3 to 4 years of age.
Children are entitled to 15 hours funded education the term after they are three. If required additional sessions can be booked at a rate of £10.50 per session.
We will be offering the extended 30 hour entitlement from September 2017. Please see our letters below which provide more information on eligibility how to apply. You can contact us on 01209 713982 if you have any questions.
We offer a lunchtime provision from 11:45 - 12:15 at a cost of £1.75. Children are required to bring a packed lunch.
AM 08:45 - 11:45
Lunch 11:45 - 12:15
PM 12:15 - 15:15
There are seven areas of learning which shape our education programme. The three initial areas, which provide a platform for all other learning, are known as the “prime areas.” These are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and language
- Physical development
The three prime areas are strengthened and applied within four “specific areas”. These are:
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
Children have regular integration with the school, joining in with assemblies, topic days and attending church once a term. We aim for all our nursery children to have the right foundation for good future progress through school and a seamless transition into the reception year.
Every Friday morning our children spend 30 minutes in our hall enjoying sports4tots.
Sports4tots aims to make sport fun, which translates into a healthier, happier child.
The lessons help the children to improve balance, co-ordination and agility but also improve social skills such as communication, listening and being part of a team.
