About Us

Welcome to St Meriadoc CE Nursery and Infant Academy

St Meriadoc CE Infant Academy is proud to be part of the Rainbow Multi-Academy Trust. We are a nursery and infant school welcoming children aged 2- 7 years. We were inspected by Ofsted in March 2023 and received a Good rating.

‘Pupils are happy at this community-focused school. Good relationships are central to the school’s work. There is a harmonious atmosphere throughout the school that enables pupils to learn and play well together.’ Ofsted  March 2023

At St Meriadoc Infants we strive to ensure that every child reaches their full potential and is ready for the next stage in their educational journey. We have high expectations for all of our pupils and reinforce our school motto: Believe you Can! Our academy is a busy, happy community where children really do believe they can succeed in anything they put their mind to. Visitors often comment on the confidence, friendliness and good behaviour of our pupils.

We strongly believe that outside play and exploration is vital to a young child’s all round development and we make the most of our wonderful outdoor space. As part of our bespoke curriculum we deliver Wild Tribe sessions which enables learning to happen outside. Trips and visits are a crucial part of our school curriculum. We believe that these experiences cement the curriculum for our children and enhance and deepen learning.

St Meriadoc is a Church of England Academy with a very close working relationship with the local Diocese. We regularly attend church and local clergy visit the school each week to deliver collective worship. Our academy motto is ‘Let Your Light Shine’. Our ethos is based upon Christian values and beliefs. The values that we believe best represent our school are 'Faith, Love, Respect, Perseverance and Forgiveness'.  We value each child as an individual and encourage them to become responsible and caring members of the community. We strongly believe in the importance of working in partnership with our parents and carers to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential. Our strong pastoral team works closely with our families to offer support and guidance when life can become challenging.

We believe that St Meriadoc is a special place to learn and welcome you to take a look yourself!
