Reception - Swan
Welcome to Swan Class.
Our teacher is Miss Coomber and our teaching assistant is called Miss Barry, we have 30 children in our class. In our class we have lots of lovely learning areas we like to visit:-
-We like to read books in our book corner.
-We like to act out stories in our role-play area.
-Our class like to paint pictures in the creative area.
-We like to build models with the construction sets.
-We like to draw, colour in and cut out our pictures on the writing table.
Outside we like to explore the sandpit and water tray. Climbing trees and using the see-saw on our grassy area is fun!
We really enjoy our PE lessons on Mondays with Nick from Sports For Tots. We visit the library and choose a new book on a Wednesday.
Our autumn term topic was called "Colours Of Me" and we learnt about seasonal changes. We used lots of unusual words to describe colours, for example golden or scarlet. We looked for signs of autumn outside and collected natural objects to make a hat.
We learnt about the techniques of the artists Mondrian, Kandinsky and Jackson Pollock and had a go at our own pictures. We enjoyed making our own online art gallery for our parents to see.
We learnt about the celebrations of Divali. Hannukah and Christmas.
Autumn term Flip book!
Our spring term topic was "Once Upon A Time." We learnt about the story of The Gingerbread Man and made clay models. We collected natural materials to make our own stick people and learnt more about the seasons when we read the story of Stick Man. We learnt all about the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and made our own caterpillar food pictures by chopping up fruit and vegetables.
